Stories and legends about "shapeshifters" (therianthrophy) are mostly about adult men appearing as animals or objects.
There are very few (by which we mean none) recorded legends of girls with the ability to alter their own ages, specifically making themselves older and rapidly growing into women (and then back again).
It's very important that any such reports are collected to be studied, no matter how vague.
In a few fictional stories, when girls get angry or have other strong emotions they start growing older. They don't notice until their tightening clothes become uncomfortable or make it harder to move.
If they don't manage to struggle out of the clinging fabric it will begin to rip and tear apart.
Most girls do have "age dreams" of themselves as adults while growing up, and they also might have uncomfortable outgrown clothes dreams. In general they are suspicious of such dreams, as they like to stay in control.
If a girl were to suddenly grow up into a woman in real life, her damaged clothes would still mostly cover her, so she would usually not end up naked or expose too much skin.
That's good because we want to avoid nudity. The shoulders and waist may become exposed but obviously that doesn't matter too much.
The growing up process is always empowering, and should be celebrated more.
It is about self-actualization. The process of getting bigger perfectly represents their increased agency.
